ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Chayan Kumar Paul — a Ph.D. scholar in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Delhi, working under the supervision of Prof. Indra Narayan Kar. I earned my B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIEST Shibpur in 2019, and I’ve been passionately exploring the frontiers of robotics ever since.

My research focuses on developing safe and intelligent control algorithms that enable robots to interact effectively with complex, dynamic environments. I’m particularly interested in advancing human-robot collaboration, ensuring both performance and safety in shared workspaces. From industrial automation to real-world service applications, my work aims to make robots more adaptive, trustworthy, and context-aware.

Outside the lab, I find inspiration in the natural world. I love traveling and hiking — exploring new landscapes helps me stay grounded and creative. I’m also an avid photographer, always looking to capture the story behind every scene. These experiences often feed back into my research, reminding me of the importance of perception, interaction, and human connection — whether in nature or in robotics.

Driven by curiosity and a desire to make a meaningful impact, I aspire to contribute to both academia and industry through innovative research and thoughtful teaching.
